I have a learning difficulty or a disability, what support is available?

A huge benefit of the online nature of MNU is that you can pause the lectures or re-watch them as many times as you need to go over the information delivered. There is also the function to adjust the speed of the speaker, which may help you when taking notes during the lecture. Details on how to do this can be found in the LEARN Navigation Video available under Lecture 1.1 on your course on LEARN.

We’re also aware of numerous pieces of software available that you might like to use to help you with your studies such as:

  • Coloured screens
  • Revision tools
  • Dictation tools and/or programmes that read your screen for you

All of these are allowed to be used throughout your MNU studies and within the final exams so it may be worth exploring and testing different programs to see if any of them are helpful!

To further support your studies on MNU, we would strongly encourage you to make good use of the Student Support group. The tutors are available to support you 365 days a year, so if you need help with anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Finally, at the end of your course, you may be eligible to receive additional time within your exams.

If you’ve already notified us that you have a learning difficulty or disability via your enrolment form, you’ll be contacted in the first few weeks of the course to provide us with further details. This will be reviewed by the tutors and you will be notified whether or not you are eligible for additional time.

If you are eligible, we will send you further information about your extra time closer to the exams.

If you didn’t let us know during your enrolment and think you may be eligible for extra time, please contact us using the form below.
