Diabetes Specialist & Registered Dietitian

Paul is a leading UK Registered Dietitian and a specialist in diabetes, with over 20 years of experience. Paul has undertaken a number of voluntary roles to support the advancement of the profession and to improve care for people with diabetes. These include roles on the Professional Practice & Education Board of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and currently as Chair of the BDA’s Specialist Diabetes Group, during which time he was co-author of the UK Nutrition Guidelines for Diabetes. Paul’s main research interest is carbohydrate and how patients are advised about carbohydrate by dietitians, for which he secured a prestigious National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship. This enabled Paul to carry out his research and undertake a PhD. Paul combines clinical work for the NHS with service management and freelance work in private practice.
